The association Les Vielles Fontaines is one of the associations apposed to the landfilling project at Chantecorps.
On Monday 15 March, we went to visit the RSU Oxalor site, set up by the Community of communes of Lezay. Paul Magnan, who initiated this project, gave us a presentation of the factory and its activitiers, with explanations from Michel Codard, resp. for technical matters.
Odourless storing
From the waste feed hopper to the finished product, we saw how the mixer, cleaner and separator were working...The proces consists of the dehydration of the waste allowing the separation of undesirable matter and its stabilization...At the end of the chain, an organo-calcic ready-to-use amendment is stored in silos. The incoming waste (sludge waste, greenwaste and industrial food waste) are stored without odour thanks to the rapidity of the treatment (5 T in 2 hours)....
A parallel project is being set up at the same site : a platform for composting green waste which will produce a fertilizer for agricultural and gardening purposes...it is project mixing green waste to sludge waste producing a product that can be associated to the Oxalor treatment ...
